Mental wellbeing

Mental wellbeing & resilience

Looking after your mental wellbeing can begin before you need clinical treatment. This pathway explores manageable habits around movement, sleep, connection and everyday stress, while recognising when your concerns deserve a conversation with a qualified health professional.

The starting point

Build practical routines that support wellbeing and make space for recovery.

Adults seeking proactive support with stress, everyday energy, routines or connection. People returning from clinical anxiety or depression care need agreement from their treating professional; significant or persistent symptoms may require a clinical pathway instead.

01 / Your goal

Make it personal.

02 / Your plan

Keep it connected.

03 / Your next step

Review it together.

What support can look like.

Your programme is shaped around your health, preferences and clinical needs.

01

Movement you can sustain

Find suitable, enjoyable activity that fits your life and current health, including manageable ways to interrupt long periods of sitting.

02

Daily recovery habits

Explore sleep routines, breaks and simple relaxation practices, with realistic goals rather than a demand to optimise every part of life.

03

Connection and the right help

Make space for meaningful interests and relationships. Screening or discussion can identify when a qualified clinician should assess a concern.

Your journey

Small steps.
A clear direction.

  1. Assessment

Discuss your priorities, daily demands and health, and check whether clinical assessment would be more appropriate.

  2. Your plan

Choose a few realistic habits and define what useful progress would look like for you.

  3. Supported practice

Try the routines in everyday life and discuss barriers without turning wellbeing into another performance target.

  4. Review

Review what helps, change what does not and seek professional assessment for concerning symptoms.

Make progress
personal.

The right measures help the team understand whether the plan is useful and what should happen next.

How measurement works
01 / Review together

Self-reported wellbeing and perceived stress using suitable tools

02 / Review together

Sleep routines and participation in chosen activities

03 / Review together

Progress towards personal goals and the support you find useful

Measures are chosen by the clinician. These are examples, not a standard test package.

A team that fits your needs

Connected professional support.

  • Wellbeing or functional health coach
  • Qualified clinical reviewer when screening raises concerns
  • Movement, nutrition or psychological professionals when indicated
  • Your existing clinician when there is a clinical care plan

The centre confirms the professionals involved and their availability.

Working with your hospital

The right care, in the right place.

A wellbeing programme does not require a hospital event. If you are also preparing for treatment or recovering from illness, its activities should fit your medical plan. Where anxiety or depression needs treatment, clinical care takes priority and wellbeing support is considered as an appropriate addition.

Our referral approach

Your questions, answered.

How is this different from the anxiety or depression pathways?

This pathway concerns proactive everyday wellbeing. Persistent, severe or function-limiting symptoms need clinical assessment and may call for a different kind of support.

Will the programme prevent burnout or mental illness?

No prevention outcome is guaranteed. The aim is to support workable habits and notice when further help is needed, without claiming to predict or prevent an individual illness.

Do I need a wearable or an app?

Useful goals and conversations do not depend on owning a device. Ask what is available and relevant locally; technology should support the plan rather than determine your eligibility.

Clinical perspective

This is wellbeing support, not diagnosis or treatment for a mental-health condition. Suitability and professional availability must be confirmed. Significant distress or risk requires appropriate clinical help; emergencies need urgent services.
